The 15th Savannah Film Festival, which begins in less than three weeks, got even more exciting on Monday afternoon with the announcement of John Goodman joining the impressive guest list.
“Men don’t commonly wear little black dresses, which is why Talley asked some of his favorite female designers — plus Marc Jacobs, himself known for slipping into a tiny black number — to help define this iconic piece of clothing in the exhibit’s accompanying catalog.”
I sure would have loved to have been a fly on the way as Andre Leon Talley and Maureen Dowd toured the exhibit “Little Black Dress” at the SCAD Museum of Art.
The special screenings at the 2012 Savannah Film Festival include “On the Road”, Walter Salles’ adaptation of the Jack Kerouac classic.
The Savannah Film Festival will close with Rise of the Guardians from Dreamworks Animation. It will be the first film to take advantage of the new 3D technology at Trustees Theater.

The performance, which packed about 350 of us into the spare ballroom at the Knights of Columbus on Liberty Street, was simply beautiful on many levels.
The gallery Little Beasts at 1522 Bull Street — just north of the corner of 32nd Street — has been replaced by Non-Fiction Gallery, which hosts its grand opening tonight (Friday, Sept. 21) with “Open Book”, an exhibit featuring work by Adriane Herman, Gregory Eltringham, Liliya Soritova, Todd Schroeder, and Megan C. Mosholder.
The 2012 Savannah Film Festival — sponsored by the Savannah College of Art and Design — will be held Oct. 27 – Nov. 3.

Given Patti Smith’s reaction to the film, I don’t expect to hear any of her music, but what about the Ramones? What about Talking Heads? What about Blondie?

Rick Campanelli with ET Canada did an extended interview with Ashley Greene (of Twilight fame) on the CBGB film set at Meddin Studios here in Savannah. Greene plays Hilly Kristal’s daughter Lisa Kristal.
