Well it was a gorgeous day for SCAD’s Sidewalk Arts Festival in Forsyth Park. I don’t even pay that much attention to the squares themselves — I’m much more into the people-watching.
As in previous years, the bright sun and deep shade from the live oaks makes it very difficult to get a lot of great photos of the event, and I didn’t hang around all that long anyway.
So here are a few dozen, some better than others. As you can see, the big thing in recent years is for the participants to mix the chalk with water, in effect making paint.
If you’re in Savannah and have never stopped by the park for this event, you’re missing out. I can only imagine how much fun it is for tourists who just happen to chance upon it while visiting the city on a beautiful spring weekend.
