Swedish performer Molly Nilsson performed a beautiful set on the second floor of The Sparetime on Monday night.
The Savannah stop came in the midst of a busy fall tour and was produced by Safe//Sound and Dollhouse Productions.
Nilsson’s synth pop is reminiscent of old new wave stuff — at its best the music seemed to penetrate every pore.
The sound was really good in the relatively spare venue. Jeff Zagers opened with a set that seemed a perfect match for Nilsson.
There weren’t any lights on the performers, which obviously made flashless photography a challenge, but a beautiful video installation by Jae Matthews created some interesting effects.
