I’ve been a huge fan of modern dance for many years — and I’m sorry that one consequence of living in Savannah is the relative rarity with which major companies are anywhere in the vicinity.
So it was really nice to open up Google today and see the “doodle” celebrating Martha Graham’s 117th birthday. Why 117? Who cares.
The moves in the doodle are actually ones that Graham choreographed, and the artist Ryan Woodward actually worked with the Martha Graham Dance Company in creating it. There are a number of nice write-ups today about Graham and the doodle, including this one at PC Mag.
