UPDATE, about 8:30 p.m., 5/25: Savannah disappeared from the locations on Kanye West’s website sometime this afternoon (the page still exists, but with no red dots), so I have no idea if the video projections are still happening tonight. My guess is no.
ORIGINAL POST:
From The Source:
Apparently, the 66 different “New Slaves†debuts were just the beginning.
In the past week, we’ve seen the album artwork for Kanye’s upcoming album, learned its title (Yeezus), learned its release date (June 18th), and saw Mr. West perform two songs from the album (“New Slaves†and “Black Skinheadâ€). From tonight into Sunday, we’ve learned via Kanye’s website, that 12 lucky cities will be treated to more Kanye West projections.
Now, I don’t really know what to expect from this, but The Source has two listings for Savannah:
Saturday, May 25th
Telfair Museum Of Art
Savannah, Georgia
10pmSaturday, May 25th
Civil Rights Museum
Savannah, Georgia
10pm
Sure enough, Kanye’s website looks dark right now except for a map of the world with little red squares. There’s even one on Savannah once you’ve clicked through to see North America.
On this page, you can see the two red squares in Savannah with a 10 to 11 p.m. time for Saturday night. It’s worth noting, however, that the square that says Telfair Museum of Art is in the wrong place, though the popup Google map is correct. I’m assuming the projection will be at the Jepson Center.
I have no idea who is handling this locally, but it looks like Kanye West fans in Savannah and in some other select cities are going to be in for a big treat on Saturday night.
