Connecticut state police address misinformation on social media

I wish Lt. Paul Vance of the Connecticut State Police were a little more specific about what he’s talking about here.

He’s apparently addressing people creating identities and posting messages on social media — ones that could be seen as criminal.

“Misinformation is being posted on social media sites,” he says, before noting mimicry and pretense online.

But from the time of the shootings on Friday until at least late Saturday, mainstream media outlets were posting all sorts of inaccurate information that had allegedly been confirmed by officials.
