As Savannah gets ready for the filming of CBGB, in which Alan Rickman stars as legendary club owner Hilly Kristal, I can’t help wondering if the filmmakers can really capture the era.

I had a chance to see Abraham Lincoln vs. Zombies a few days ago on the big screen at the Jepson Center for the Arts along with many members of the cast and crew, but as of Tuesday the movie was available for small screen viewing via a variety of retail and rental outlets.

Re: Magazine, launched a few months ago by SCAD students, has just published its second issue. The magazine is heavy on fashion stories but also includes profiles, reviews, and all sorts of other pieces.

“Rupert Grint has signed up to star in CBGB, a new film about the legendary New York venue. Grint will play Cheetah Chrome, the guitarist for the Dead Boys, a punk band who played a prominent role during the club’s rise.”
