Fundraiser at Doc’s features impressive lineup of local bands on 1/19

An impressive lineup of Savannah bands has signed on for a fundraiser at Doc’s Bar on Tybee to support Ryan Buttimer and his sister Erin. Here’s part of the story from the Facebook event The Renal Fundraiser for Ryan Buttimer:

Just after Christmas Ryan Buttimer had a successful kidney transplant. His sister Erin donated her kidney and they are both recovering well. There will be a fundraising event JANUARY 18th AND JANUARY 19th at Doc’s Bar on Tybee. […]

All funds raised will go to the Georgia Transplant Foundation. The Foundation will then match the total up to $10,000 toward helping to cover Erin and Ryan’s medical expenses.

Today (1/18) Doc’s is hosting dart and bumper pool tournaments as part of the fundraiser, but the real party is on Sunday, with a $5 requested donation at the door and a lineup that includes: Annie Allman; Sam Adams Band; Michael Moody; Jason Bible & The Trainwrecks; Burning Mansions; Niche; & Ray Lundy with Bottles & Cans.

Sounds like a great time for a great cause. The music looks to start sometime after 1 p.m. on Sunday. Check out that Facebook link for more details. The event was also covered briefly in Do.
