Sofia Talvik – The Sentient Bean – 01/05/12

The Sentient Bean, one of Savannah’s only all-ages music venues and one of the city’s havens for touring singer-songwriters, looks like it will be getting 2012 off to a good start with this appearance by Sofia Talvik.

There’s a clear pop sensibility in Talvik’s folk-y work — I’m tempted to go ahead and say EuroPop (she is from Sweden after all), but that term feels too reductive to me.

Talvik has four albums out. The description of this tour suggests that she’ll be leaving the band behind. So she’s likely to be playing acoustic guitar “with video art that brings her stories and the mystical world of Scandinavia to life.”
