The Savannah Jazz Festival began today with a really, really great jam session at Blowin’ Smoke on MLK.
I took the camera.
Here’s the schedule for the next three nights (Monday through Wednesday) at Blowin’ Smoke:
Monday, Sept. 19: The Anatomy of Vince Guaraldi (cosponsored by Psychotronic Film Society), 7:45 to 9 p.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 20: Howard Paul Quartet with Scott Giddens and Jody Espina, 7 to 10 p.m.
Wednesday, Sept. 21: Eric Jones and company, and Bob Masteller and the Jazz Corner Quintet, 7 to 10 p.m.
I don’t know anything about Monday’s film but I recommend those gigs on Tuesday and Wednesday really highly. It’s just a really comfortable spot for the early nights of the Jazz Festival.
I’ll circle back around to the gallery below to try to add some captions.

Here are the exact same pics in a CoolIris gallery — I don’t know if other people like these, but I love the clarity and size of the pics after clicking, scrolling, zooming, etc. Click in the lower right hand corner to make the gallery full screen.
