Just a reminder that voting for the new Georgia license plate ends on Monday, August 8th at 3 p.m.
Just a few notes on the vote:
- I posted about some of the confusion and controversy over the optional $1 “In God We Trust” sticker here.
- The top three vote getters will be passed along to Governor Deal, who will make the final decision.
- If all of this seems overly peachy — and it is! — there’s good reason: “The Code requires the license plate to ‘advertise, popularize and otherwise promote Georgia as the Peach State.'”
- And there’s this disturbing proviso: “As each image is an artist’s rendering, the Department of Revenue reserves the right to make alterations due to limitations in the production process.”
