The one huge hurdle from what I was told is that although it is not “in service” that it is still a major hub for electrical lines in Savannah. It’s the equivalent of a breaker box on a house and moving that means relocating all the lines going to it as well.

That Georgia Power building would have been a great site for the Ga. Music Hall of Fame — and maybe part of it could also have been a music venue. Georgia Power is still asking a ton of money for it, but after this year’s rate increases, it would be a nice gesture if they deeded it to some nonprofit development group that’s more interested in a productive use than in making as much as possible.

Georgia Power buildings offer limitless opportunities — art on the river, visitors center with shops & business booths, river center (for cruise, temporary river traffic, etc.). I love your idea for a music center. Too bad GA Music museum could not take advantage of change of venue from Macon to Savannah in one of these ideal locations.
