Actress Michelle Monaghan will receive a \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Spotlight Award\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for her performance in Tomorrow You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re Gone, and Academy Award-winning writer\/director Geoffrey Fletcher (Precious) will receive the 2nd Annual SCAD Cinevation Award prior to a screening of his directorial debut Violet &#038; Daisy.  The film\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s star James Gandolfini will be in attendance.<\/p>\n<p>David O. Russell\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Silver Linings Playbook will open the festival on Saturday October 27.  Other special screenings include Robert Zemeckis\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Flight (writer John Gatins will be honored prior to screening) Dustin Hoffman\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Quartet, Jacques Audiard\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Rust &#038; Bone, Wayne Blair\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s The Sapphires, Michael Haneke\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Canne\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Palme D\u00e2\u20ac\u2122Or winner Amour, and Walter Salles\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 On the Road.  Dreamworks Animation\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Rise of the Guardian directed by Peter Ramsey and written by Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire\u00e2\u20ac\u201dwho will be honored prior to the screening\u00e2\u20ac\u201dwill close the festival as the first ever 3D film to play at Savannah.<\/p>\n<p>RealD Inc., a leading global licensor of 3D technologies, has partnered with SCAD to be the exclusive 3D cinema provider at the Savannah Film Festival.  RealD will also provide SCAD with the company\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s patented 3D lens and glasses for permanent use, allowing the university\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s film and digital media students to screen their projects in 3D.<\/p>\n<p>Other special screenings taking place at this year\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s festival include: Matt Ross\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 28 Hotel Rooms, David Jacobson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Tomorrow You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re Gone, Bedabrata Pain\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Chittagong, Ry Russo-Young\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Nobody Walks, Brian Savelson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s In Our Nature with star Zach Gilford in attendance, Glenn Gaylord\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s I Do with writer\/star David W. Ross in attendance, Ramona Diaz\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Journey documentary Don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t Stop Believin\u00e2\u20ac\u2122, HBO Films\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 \u00e2\u20ac\u0153The Girl\u00e2\u20ac\u009d directed by Julian Jarrold (who will attend), and Lori Silver Bush and Kristi Jacobson\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s documentary A Place at the Table.
