It can be easy to miss The Book Lady Bookstore, which sells new and used books in the basement space at 6 East Liberty St., but it seems like more locals and more tourists are gravitating toward the space.

And some new attention from AFAR Magazine sure can’t hurt.

The Book Lady was included this week in the new feature 6 Exceptional Shopping Experiences for the Bookworm.

Other featured stores are in London, San Francisco, Singapore, Paris, and Bondi Beach.

Nothing makes me happier than stumbling upon a really great bookstore, and this one in Savannah takes the cake! While strolling down East Liberty Street in gorgeous Savannah—my favorite of all the beautiful Southern cities—my husband and I happened upon the independently-owned Book Lady Bookstore, offering over 50,000 (!) new, used, rare, and out-of-print books of all kinds.

The Book Lady, which has been in operation since 1978, was on Wright Square for years before the move to Liberty.
