Les Racquet – Live Wire Music Hall – 10/26/12

The great rock trio Les Racquet was hanging around Savannah for a while over the winter — playing gigs at the Tybee Island Social Club and at Live Wire. They first came through the area and quickly won some hardcore fans on their first trip last year.

They’ll be around town for awhile again on this trip, beginning with this Friday, October 26th gig at Live Wire. On Saturday the 27th they’ll be at Rocks on the Roof. On Friday, November 2nd and Saturday, November 3rd, they’ll be back for gigs at Tybee Island Social Club, which has nice performance spaces and good sound both inside and out. Then they’re back at Live Wire on Friday, Nov 16th; and back at Tybee Social the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

Les Racquet is a Brooklyn NY based indie rock power trio with three-part vocal harmonies and technically expressive musicianship. The trio performs songs that pique the interest of learned musicians and mainstream listeners alike.

The group conveys energy and vitality on stage by unleashing bursts of rock n’ roll improv around intimate vocal moments. The youthful trio demonstrate an ability to move between classic and worldly genres while adding their own contemporary edge to each style. The band respects the diversity of individual tastes and prides itself on an ability to entertain fans from all backgrounds.

During its first year as a band Les Racquet has been completely “do it yourself”: expanding its horizons to include: managing, booking, marketing, producing and recording.

I took some pics during a couple of their gigs at Live Wire last time around:
