Moments ago, Zunzi’s chicken sandwich The Conquistador finished in the top 3 out of 30 finalists from across the country on Adam Richman’s Best Sandwich in America on the Travel Channel. The winner was the Roast Pork sandwich from DiNic’s in Philly.

Savannah makes a lot of lists for the “Best this” or “Best that”, and clearly any such honors have an arbitrary nature to them — especially when they seem mainly designed to drive page views and ad sales.
Nevertheless, what a great honor tonight for a great business!

Congrats to owners Gabby and Johnny DeBeer, who opened Zunzi’s in 2005 and have made thousands and thousands of folks happy in the years since.
