Legitimate millage rate increases are a far better predictor of funds for education than uneven and unpredictable special option taxes. People should face up to the costs of infrastructure and management of their city (county) and be willing to pay for those services and elect politicians who provide similar views of local needs and ways to pay for said services. This whole idea of lower taxes and increased fees to businesses and revenue from sales sources is a crazy way to grow a local economy. It only encourages deceptive fiscal practices and those who are willing to practice them. Politicians who buy your vote with a promise of lower taxes can be bought as well. They think everything is a commodity.
