These United States releases self-titled new album — streaming embed plus photos from their latest Savannah gig

The new album by These United States, conveniently called These United States, is now available.

Paste Magazine calls These United States a “folk band“, but I’d prefer the more straightforward rock and roll label. Lead singer Jesse Elliott has a wonderfully evocative voice that seems to dance through the even more evocative lyrics, and he has a stellar cast of musicians behind him.

I’ve seen them a couple of times now, and was particularly impressed by their gig at The Wormhole last month. I mentioned that gig in a previous post and included a few pics, but I’ve got more here, plus the Soundcloud stream of the entire link with a button to purchase it. I don’t know how much longer that the album will remain streaming in its entirety now that it’s been released.

Brooke Atwood also mentioned last month’s These United States gig in Savannah on her blog My Style Bass and used (with permission of course!) a few of the pics here.

I think the album is excellent and I hope the band will be back through here again soon.
