UPDATE, 11/30: The first major press release in its entirety:
MusicFile Productions, a Georgia based LLC announces the official dates for the 2012 Savannah Stopover Music Festival. The four-day music event will commence the evening of Wednesday March 7th, with a kickoff concert and Band Poster Art Opening at the Jepson Museum in Telfair Square. The festival will continue through Saturday night March 10th in multiple venues across the city’s famed historic district.

In its second year, the festival continues to focus on the best up and coming bands en route to the high-profile SXSW Music Festival in Austin, Texas, which takes place March 13-18th. Local and regional bands will also be selected to play throughout the weekend.

To date, the festival has received over 100 band submissions from across the globe, pacing three times ahead of last year’s. Thirty acts have already been confirmed from the U.S., Canada, Australia and the UK. Kayne Lanahan, the Festival’s founder said “We’ve been a bit blown away by the response from bands so far for year two. They’re in love with Savannah. We’ve got some tough choices to make over the next few weeks.”

The full festival lineup of bands, venues, sponsors, special events, and the 2012 Savannah Stopover website will be revealed in January.

The festival continues its commitment to involving local area artists and students with two Poster competitions for 2012: A Festival Poster Competition , which kicked off November 18th and a Band Poster Competition which will commence in early January. Winners will be announced at the March 7th Opening Night event.

“Early Bird” tickets go on sale December 1st for a limited time on ShowClix.com at last year’s rates of $45.00 for a full four-day festival pass. Regular tickets will be available beginning December 15th, 2011 and are $30.00 for a one-day pass or $75.00 for a festival pass.
