I’ve started doing periodic updates regarding gas prices. Spikes in gas prices have clear negative impacts on economic conditions. Declining prices don’t necessarily spur economic growth, but they certainly are welcome news for cash-strapped consumers.
According to GasBuddy.com, the average pump price in the Savannah area is now below $3.37 per gallon. Given the current price of crude and the prospects for continued weakening of much of the world economy, lower prices seem to be in the offing.
You can obviously make modifications to this chart for other areas and for other time periods.
