Apparently, one of the final 5 candidates for the Savannah city manager position pulled out of the process.
From a press release from the city, here are the bios of the remaining 4 candidates:
Wayne Cauthen
Wayne Cauthen served as the City Manager for the City of Kansas City, Missouri from 2003-2009. Prior to his time in Kansas City, Wayne worked for the City and County of Denver from 1993-2003 in a variety of positions to include Chief of Staff, Mayor’s Office (2000-2003), Deputy Chief of Staff, Mayor’s Office (1997-2000), Interim Finance Director (1997-1998), Interim Director – Mayor’s Office of Economic Development and International Trade (1999) and the Executive Director, Mayor’s Office of Contract Compliance (1993-1999). He also worked as the Manager for Small Business Development Program with the Martin Marietta Aerospace Group in Littleton, Colorado (1986-1993), for the Colorado Capitol Complex Divisions in Denver, Colorado (1985-1986), for the Colorado Minority Business Development Agency in Denver, Colorado (1980-1985) and in the Colorado Office of Planning and Budget (1979-1980). Wayne holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Central State University.
Pat Digiovanni DiGiovanni [The information sent out by the city uses a small “g” but the official San Antonio website uses a “G.”]
Pat Digiovanni DiGiovanni currently serves as the Deputy City Manager for the City of San Antonio, Texas (2006 – Present). Prior to joining the City of San Antonio, Pat worked as the Director of Economic and Community Development Kalamazoo Valley Community College/ Michigan Technical Education Center (MTEC) (2005- 2006) and in multiple positions with the City of Kalamazoo, Michigan (1991 –2005) to include City Manager (1997 – 2005), Acting City Manager (1997), Deputy City Manager (1993 – 1997) and Assistant City Manager for Operations(1991 -1993). Pat also served as the Town Administrator for the Town of Surfside Beach, South Carolina (1986 – 1991), the Assistant to City Manager/Director of Revenue for the City of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina (1984 – 1986), and the Director of Finance for the City of McKeesport, Pennsylvania (1982 – 1984). Pat holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Pittsburgh and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Sociology from Northeastern University.
Alfred Lott
Alfred Lott Currently serves as the City Manager for the City of Albany, Georgia (2005 – Present). Prior to joining the City of Albany, Alfred worked as the Public Works Director for the City of Takoma Park, MD (2002 – 2005), the Assistant City Manager for the City of College Park, MD (1998 – 2002) and as a Strategic Planner for the Pentagon in Washington, DC (1997 – 1998). Alfred has also served as the Chief of Army for Public Affairs in Los Angeles, CA (1995 – 1997), the Chief of Public Affairs for the WWII Commemoration Committee for the Pentagon in Washington, DC (1993 – 1995) and in multiple roles for the U.S. Army Corps in Fort Hood, Texas, 1st Cavalry Division and 3rd (1991 – 1993) to include; an Aviation Operations Officer, a Battalion Executive Officer and an Aviation Division Chief. He has also served as the Chief of Public Affairs for the 4th Transportation Command in Germany (1986 – 1990) and as a Company Commander for the C Company, 4th Aviation Training Battalion in Fort Rucker, AL (1985 -1986). Other military accomplishments from 1976 to 1985 include the roles of Infantry Platoon Leader, Infantry Executive Officer, Army Aviator, Personnel staff officer and Training officer. Alfred holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Central Texas and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science from Tuskegee University.
Rochelle Small-Toney
Rochelle Small – Toney currently serves as the Acting City Manager (July, 2010 – present) for the City of Savannah, Georgia and previously as the Assistant City Manager, Bureau of Public Development (2007 –2010). Prior to joining the City of Savannah, Rochelle worked as an Assistant City Manager (1999 –2007) for the City of Charlottesville, Virginia, and as both an Assistant City Manager (1993 –1999) and as the Assistant to the City Manager (1991 –1993) with the City of Danville, Virginia (1991 –1999). She has also worked as a Budget Analyst (1986 –1991) and a Personnel Analyst (1981 –1986) for the City of Wilmington, North Carolina (1981 –1991). Rochelle holds a Master of Public Administration and a Bachelor of Arts from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
